Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most.

I really don't have any words to describe this. What can more can I say other than he is my best friend. and being my best friend can't be an easy task, lol! 2011 has been everything but easy for me. And through all the ups and the downs, and believe me, the downs were low, I always knew I could count on him. Even when I didn't want to. Even when I pushed away. Even when I gave up on him, he was always there. He didn't let me stray. And he was real and honest even when it hurt. And I will always be grateful. He sees me in a way that I wish I could see myself. He is genuine and loyal. Through all the laughs, the tears, TNL texts, and terrible fortunes cookies that teach you Chinese, I'm glad that he's there to share in my life. Thank you for never giving up, Joe! xo :)

Your bff,
Rosisella

finishing what I start.

I'm really bad at follow through. this year has been everything but kind to me. I'm reminded of when I stopped my 30 days project...but I think I'm ready to finish it. and finish other projects too. I wrote a lot this year. I had a lot of time to think about life and the meaning of it, and my role on this Earth. time to tell the world. all 3 of you that read this.

Day 08: a picture that always makes you laugh.

this one never fails me. we are like lady and the tramp, jajaja! seriously tho, there isn't another person on the Earth that I have more fun with than my SISTER, Jen. I always know that we she will keep it 100% and keep it hood. and usually I want to beat her up, so that's how I know things are going well. Day 06: a picture of somewhere you've been.

Paris 2006
when I was in high school I had the honor of having Mrs. Bradshaw as my Spanish teacher. she was amazing. and also the classiest lady I had ever seen in my life. I'm sure she wears Chanel lipstick (and if you know me, I think that Chanel lipstick is about as classy as it gets). the summer of 2000 was amazing for so many reasons, but most of all, it was amazing because I went to Spain with Mrs. Bradshaw and some of my other classmates. I got to see 7 different cities over the course of 17 days. so many memories and such an amazing experience to have at the age of 17. it turned me into a life-long traveler. also, it inspired me to become a Spanish teacher. so my first year of teaching, I, along with the French teacher, planned a trip to Europe (france and spain). we took 18 students, a few parents, and my mom. :) it was awesome to have been given the opportunity to do as an adult what someone had done with me when I was in high school. this particular day, when the photo was taken, we "lost" a girl in the subway of Paris. she got on the wrong train and it was impossible to find her among the maze that is the metro system. after hours of searching, I came out of the subway station, looked up and saw this. it was beautiful. so I took a picture, and prayed that Brittany was ok. (she was fine. she had gotten off the subway when she realized she had gotten on the wrong train, took a cab back to the hotel, and called us to let us know). I long for the streets of Paris... I've been back twice. but I hope to go again.

Day 05: a picture of your favorite memory.

"empieza la aventura de la vida" - timbiriche
this is one the greatest memories of my life. since I can remember, I couldn't wait to have a quinceañera. the dress, the mass, the waltz, and of course the banda that was going to play covers all night and me who would dance the night away. the preparations of my quince were so much more memorable than the day itself. first of all, my incredible family who pulled together to make the day possible. my brothers who so selflessly gave their hard earned money to my parents to help pay for the event. my cousins and friends who dedicated their sundays for months to practice at the holiday inn for the waltz. the dress fittings. the pictures. the sleep overs. and of course the party. that day was epic. all of my family and friends were there. I wore a beautiful dress and was adorned with lavish gifts. I didn't even care that we messed up on the waltz and that my mom didn't let me go to my own after-party. I had the time of my life. :)

Day 04: a picture of your night.

I've had a rough day... lots of tears, so pardon the bags under my eyes. but I have oliver. and he is my friend. we cuddle on the couch and are currently watching the oscars.

Day 03: a picture of the cast from your favorite show.

"my philosophy is basically this: and it's something that I live by. and I always have. and I always will. don't ever, for any reason, do anything to anyone, for any reason ever, no matter what. no matter... where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going... or where you have been... ever. for any reason, whatsoever." - Michael Scott

the office is the greatest show on television. I love the office for so many reasons. Michael Scott is one of the greatest characters ever!! I think aside for the hilarious story lines, the drama, the taboo topics, and the incredibly witty jokes and quotables, my favorite part of the office has nothing to do with the show at all. it's about my best friend. there have been many times when we are watching the office, he in chicago and me in kansas city, and we are texting each other the funny lines. or we are in the middle of conversations and we are able to insert a quote that relates to what is going on. it is an incredibly special bond that I have with an incredibly special person. we have literally sat around and watch entire seasons while eating pancakes and sitting on the couch. it's our thing. and it's one of the most special parts of our friendship. I have the best friend ever. and he also loves the office, so it's a win-win... or a "win-win-win" in the words of michael scott.

Day 02: a picture of the person you've been closet to the longest.

this is really hard for me. there are so many things to consider for this “honor” :)
first of all, if I go with the longest, there is no question that my dearest cousin Elva *teacher of the year 2010-2011* would win the award. since I can remember we have been the sisters we never had. when we were younger, we used to make up these elaborate dances in the front yard. we always asked our dads to play chess just to get a few more minutes of “hanging out time” and then “pretend” to fall asleep so we could spend the night. I always looked up to her, and she inspired me to become a teacher. she is the greatest woman I’ve ever known. I don’t know if I could have survived the things she has had to endure, and she always did everything with no complaints, no questions, but just because it was the right thing to do. even when we had our stints and I “HATED” her… I have never so passionately hated a person, lol. and it’s so funny because looking back, she always had my best interest at heart, which is more than I can say about other people. we go through our times when we don’t always talk and aren’t as close as we could be… but when you break out the rock band or american idol, we have a connection that is unparalleled. we both enjoy musicals and love Mama Mia. and at christmas time we thoroughly enjoy the singing of mariah carey among others. we have so many connections, so many memories, and so much grace through what has sometimes been a rocky relationship. she is my cousin, but she is more like my sister. ♥

now… if I had to go with friend who I’ve been closet to the longest, the winner is…*drum roll, please* Kate!
We met in 7th grade at Raytown South Middle School in gym class. I remember the first thing I ever asked her is if she shaved her legs, and how to do it! haha… we have had so many memories together. all the raves and the red bull… and red, white and boom. going “off” to college. her wedding. and through all of the trials and tribulations our “original” circle of friends has gone through, we have always remained tight. she is the family I chose. she has always been there for me, and I know that I can lean on her for anything. I hope she knows she can expect that same from me. I’m glad to have been able to share in her life. she has shown me so much and taught me things that I am embarrassed to write about… (at Samantha’s apartment when we were like 18). from playing soccer to playing volleyball, we have always been close. I’m so proud of her accomplishments in life. she was there for my family when my grandfather was in the hospital, and there is no other nurse I would trust in the world than her. Love you!
